NOTICE TO VOTERS IN MAIL BALLOT PRECINCTS IN ST. LOUS COUNTY

2026 STATE PRIMARY AND STATE GENERAL ELECTION VOTING PROCEDURES


Voters residing in the City of Floodwood, St. Louis County will vote by mail in statewide elections as authorized by the township/city under MN Statute 204B.45.



Notice of State Primary Election:   August 11, 2026.  All persons registered to vote as of July 22, 2026,in MAIL BALLOT precincts will automatically be sent a ballot at least 14 days prior to the election.  If you are registered to vote and do not receive a ballot by July 31, 2026, please contact the St. Louis County Auditor’s Office at one of the locations listed below.



Notice of State General Election:    November 3, 2026.  All persons registered to vote on October 14, 2026, in MAIL BALLOT precincts will automatically be sent a ballot at least 14 days prior to the election.  If you are registered to vote and do not receive a ballot by October 23, 2026, please contact the Auditor’s Office at one of the locations listed below.

Voted ballots may be returned by mail (stamped return envelopes are included with each MAIL BALLOT packet) or in person at one of the below listed locations.  All returned ballots MUST BE RECEIVED by 8:00 p.m.on Election Day at one of the below listed Auditor’s Office locations.  Assistive voting equipment and witnessing of signatures is also available at the Auditor’s Offices.


NOTE:  If you live in one of the mail ballot areas and are eligible to vote but are not currently registered, you may apply to the Auditor’s Office in person or by mail for ballots and registration materials.

City Council Filing Information:

The filing period for Mayor and Council begins at 10:00 am Tuesday July 14, 2026, until July 28, 2026,26 at 5 p.m.

The place of filing is Floodwood City Hall, 111 W. 8th Ave., Floodwood, MN 55736

 

Candidates may file in person or by mail if the filing is received during the filing period. Candidates who will be absent from the filing period and meet the requirements of Minnesota Statute section 204B.09, subdivision 1a, may arrange to file during the seven days immediately preceding the candidate’s absence from the state.

Notice Is hereby given as provided in Minnesota Statute 304B.33 that a General election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the purpose of electing candidates for the offices listed below.

 

The filing period for Mayor, Clerk, one Council Member, and Treasurer begins at 10:00 am on Tuesday July 14th, and ends at 5:00 pm, Tuesday July 28, at 5:00 p.m.
