What was the development process, and who was involved?
The development process began after the City of Floodwood purchased the land in May 2024. Formal planning efforts were launched in January 2025, when the city partnered with InGensa, a project management firm, to begin shaping a vision for the property.
From there, InGensa brought in SAS, a team of landscape architects and designers, to create multiple conceptual renderings of how the land could be used. As ideas developed, the city hosted two public community meetings to gather feedback and share early concepts. This input helped guide revisions and refinements to the master plan. The draft concepts were also presented and discussed during City Council workshops, allowing council members to weigh in and shape the direction of the project.
Throughout the process, the city’s planning committee, council members, residents, and professional consultants all played important roles in shaping the project into what it is today – a vision for growth that reflects both strategic planning and community values.
